Audio Description provides access to films, television programs, live performances and other audio-visual material for people who are blind or have a visual impairment, allowing them to understand and appreciate these as fully as a sighted person.

Appendix 5—Australian Digital Testing—TST1 audio description transport stream testing

This test report was prepared for Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). The tests were carried out at the Australian Digital Testing Pty Limited (ADT) testing facility at Glendenning. The testing was conducted during March to April 2012. The ambient temperature at the time of the test was 22 ± 2°C.

Audio description trial on ABC television report—December 2012

The ABC completed a 13 week Trial of broadcasting television programs with audio description (AD) commentary on ABC1. The Trial commenced on Sunday 5 August and finished on Sunday 4 November 2012.
