The New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (NVES) Regulator is the accountable regulatory authority administering and enforcing the New Vehicle Efficiency Standard Act 2024 (NVES Act).
On 1 January 2025, the NVES Act will come into effect. Compliance requirements will be enforced by the NVES Regulator from 1 July 2025.
The NVES Regulator works with regulated entities to make sure they comply with the NVES Act. It does this by:
- Engaging and working closely with them
- Being clear about its responsibilities, systems and processes
- Providing clear and targeted compliance, communications and education materials
- Delivering a robust and user-focused digital environment.
