Sports reporting in Australia

Sports reporting in Australia is covered by a Voluntary Code of Practice for Sports News Reporting, that was set up by major news organisations and sports administrations on 30 March 2010.

The Code lets news organisations report on sports events in any media—print, broadcast and digital. It also outlines the rights and responsibilities of sporting and media organisations:

The object of the Sports News Reporting Code of Practice (the Code) is to ensure that Media Organisations are able to access sporting events for the purposes of gathering News Content for News Reporting.
