Aviation Policy Group (APG)

What is the Aviation Policy Group?

The Aviation Policy Group's (APG) role is to enhance cooperation and coordination across the four Commonwealth Government agencies responsible for aviation policy, regulation and service provision.

The APG agencies include the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities (the department), the Department of Defence, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and Airservices Australia (Airservices) who all have significant complementary yet differing roles in policy development, regulation or service delivery in our airspace and air traffic management system.

All APG agencies are committed to the outcome of safe and efficient airspace and air traffic management.

The APG is required to report annually to the Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development on performance against the key objectives, initiatives and milestones outlined in the State Safety Programme.
