Summit to Drumsite water main replacement
The Australian Government is improving water security on Christmas Island, through its replacement of a 4km section of the Summit to Drumsite water main, commencing in the national park. Commissioning of Phase 1 of the project was achieved over 7 and 8 September 2023, with final connections to the new water main completed.
Options will be considered for Phase 2 for the replacement of the remaining approximately 2km of water main to complete the project to the Drumsite tank.
