The Regional Investment Framework (RIF) sets out the Australian Government's approach to how regional investment is delivered across the Commonwealth.

The new approach is joined-up, flexible and cohesive, working collaboratively to seize opportunities and respond to challenges across Australia's diverse regions.

The Bureau of Communications, Arts, and Regional research (BCARR) undertakes research and provides economic and data analysis on communications, arts, cities and regions to support evidence-based policy development and advice.

The Regional Data Hub provides timely and accurate information about Australia's regions for a range of users including regional communities, local leaders, industry, and all levels of government. The Hub contains an extensive and easy to use data catalogue containing data on a broad range of topics and key themes of interest to regional Australians.

The Data Catalogue is an entry point to Australia's infrastructure, regional and transport data. It contains 101 datasets on regional Australia on topics including health, crime, disability, housing, climate and First Nations Australians.

The PHIDU homepage allows users to access a range of resources including data workbooks and interactive visualisation and maps on the latest Social Health Atlases of Australia. Data can be sorted by a range of geographies such as Local Government Areas (LGA), Population Health Area (PHA) and Indigenous Areas.

The Report on Government Services provides information on the equity, effectiveness and efficiency of government services in Australia. This includes information on early childhood education and care, school and vocational education, police services and housing.

The Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Research Economics (BITRE) provides economic analysis, research and statistics on infrastructure and transport issues to inform both Australian Government policy development and wider community understanding. The National Freight Data Hub shares freight data on Australia's road, rail, sea and air freight networks to improve the efficiency, safety, productivity and resilience of the freight sector.

The ABS Data by Region tool provides users with ease of access to statistics from the ABS and other sources on a particular geographical region. Use the tools to browse, search or explore by map to find statistics about different regions in Australia.

The Statistical Geography portal provides a detailed explanation of the ABS' geographic framework, allowing users to understand, compare and analyse statistical data for informed decision making about different geographic areas.

Every five years the ABS has makes available a series of correspondence files that can be used to mathematically convert statistical data between different geographic regions.

The Australian Institute on Health and Welfare's (AIHW) Rural and Remote Health webpage contains information on the unique health challenges some Australians face due to their geographic location, including access to healthcare, health risk factors, and health outcomes. The page contains several AIHW's reports on aged care, mortality, hospitalisations, and First Nations health.

Regional Development Australia (RDA) is a national network of 53 committees made up of local leaders who work with all three levels of government, business and community groups to support the economic, social and environmental development of their regions.

RDA Boundary Maps webpage contains a list of the current RDA committees in each State and Territory, including current RDA boundary maps.

The Regional Australia Institute is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to developing solutions to key policy issues through research and an ongoing conversation with the Australian community. The site contains regional policy briefings, research reports and toolkits, including the Regional Movers Index, which presents analysis of movements between Australia's regions and capital cities.

Business.gov.au provides information to assist individuals in planning, starting and growing a business. The site includes a directory of government statistics and resources that are relevant to regional economic analysis.

The Office of the Chief Economist produces objective, robust and high-quality economic analysis to inform policy development across resources and energy, industry and innovation, skills and evaluation. Key products include Resources and Energy Quarterly—a publication that provides analysis and forecasts of energy and resource production and prices; and Australian Industry Report—a publication that provides an overview and analysis of the major economic factors affecting Australia's industries.

ABARES is a professionally independent, economic, science and statistical research unit attached to the Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry. ABARES produces producing agriculture, fisheries and forestry related research publications and statistics. Including reports and publications on agriculture, fisheries, and regional profiles.

The Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment, and Water's annual State of the Environment Report provides independent, comprehensive and evidence-based assessment of the state of Australia's environment.

Jobs and Skills Australia provides advice on Australia's labour market, including advice on workforce needs and priorities and current, emerging and future skills and training needs and priorities. This includes assessing issues relating to skills and training, First Nations People workforce analysis, migrant workers, and workforce needs in regional, rural and remote Australia.

Austrade publishes detailed reports on key export markets, including country profiles, industry overviews and 'industry within country' profiles. Users can access the reports through an easy to use search engine on the Austrade site.

Data.gov.au is the central source of Australian open government data. Anyone can access the anonymised public data published by federal, state and local government agencies. In addition to government data, you can also find publicly-funded research data and datasets from private institutions that are in the public interest.

The Digital Atlas of Australia allows users to explore, visualise and analyse location-based data and information using interactive data products. Data products include bushfire intelligence, water resources, Australia's transport network and physical infrastructure.

The Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development Regional Statistics webpage contains data visualisation tools, the OECD regional database, and key publications to support and promote evidence-based policy in all phases of policymaking to improve people's wellbeing in all regions. The OECD Regional Statistics webpage can also be used to access Australia's country statistical profile, which contains country indicators on agriculture, energy, education, economy, health and jobs.

The OECD Regions at a Glance Report presents indicators on individual regions and cities, including a comprehensive picture of past successes and likely challenges that regions and cities in OECD member countries will face in their effort to build stronger, more sustainable and more resilient.

The Reserve Bank of Australia's Statement on Monetary Policy is a quarterly assessment of current economic conditions, both domestic and international, including the outlook for Australian inflation and output growth.

The Reserve Bank of Australia's Statistical Tables contain a variety of financial and economic statistics and data produced by the RBA and other organisations. This includes a range of macroeconomic data items that are relevant to regional economic activity, such as commodity prices, exchange rates and trade statistics.
