The Australian Government has undertaken an independent review of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility Act 2016 (NAIF Act).

An Independent Expert Panel (the Panel) undertook the Review, chaired by the Honourable Warren Snowdon alongside Dr Lisa Caffery and Professor Peter Yu as members. The Panel has undertaken significant consultation across northern Australia, meeting with all levels of government and various industry sectors – including First Nations organisations, regionally based economic development organisations, research bodies and individuals to inform their review.

The Panel provided their report to the Hon Madeleine King MP, Minister for Northern Australia, on 12 February 2025. The Minister is currently considering the review and its recommendations, and is required to table the report in Parliament within 15 sitting days.

Once tabled, the report will be published on this page. Submissions received throughout consultation will also be published on our Have Your Say - 2024 Review of the Northern Australia Infrastructure Facility Act 2016 page.
