Maurice James—Managing Director—Qube

Maurice James has been the Managing Director of Qube Holdings Limited since March, 2011. He has over 30 years" extensive experience in engineering, ports and logistics industries.

His early career was spent at the Port of Melbourne Corporation commencing as a civil engineer and subsequently moving through various roles to Manager Commercial Operations.

Maurice was an integral part of the executive team of Patrick Corporation Limited between 1994 and 2006. His last position at Patrick was that of Executive Director Ports which included responsibility for Patrick's container terminals and port logistics businesses.

Since 2007 Maurice has had various roles in the Qube related group of companies and, upon corporatisation of Qube on 1 September 2011, became Managing Director.

Maurice is a Director on the Board of the Australian Logistics Council and also sits on the NSW Freight Advisory Council.

Maurice holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) and a Master of Business Administration.

Nicole Lockwood—Board Member—Infrastructure Australia

Nicole Lockwood is the Principal of Lockwood Advisory providing strategic advice to government and the private sector in the areas of regional development, infrastructure and stakeholder engagement. Nicole is a member of the Board of the Water Corporation, the Board of Tourism WA, Chair of the Freight and Logistics Council and the Deputy Chair of the Leadership WA Board.

Previously she was a Director at KPMG leading the government team in Management Consulting. She resided in the Pilbara for seven years until 2012 as Chairman of the Pilbara Development Commission, a member of the WA Planning Commission, a Director on the Horizon Power board and a Councillor at the Shire of Roebourne. She was the Shire President from 2009 to 2011.

Nicole is a lawyer having worked in private practice, at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and as the Principal Solicitor of the Pilbara Community Legal Service. She is passionate about government reform, regional and economic development and the creation of thriving communities.

Nicole has a Bachelor of Laws as well as Bachelor of Business (Environment) from Notre Dame

Marika Calfas—CEO—NSW Ports

Marika Calfas is the CEO of NSW Ports, the private sector organisation responsible for managing the ports of Botany and Kembla and intermodal terminals at Cooks River and Enfield.

Marika has over 16 years" experience in the port sector across a broad range of portfolio areas and was appointed as CEO of NSW Ports in December 2015. Marika commenced with NSW Ports at its inception in June 2013 and led the development of the NSW Ports Long Term Master Plan, released in October 2015.

Prior to NSW Ports Marika held senior positions at Sydney Ports Corporation and Sinclair Knight Merz.

Marika is a Board member of: Ports Australia; Australian Logistics Council; and PIANC Australia (the International Waterborne Industry Association), as well as Australia's representative to PIANC's International Environmental Commission. Marika is also a member of the IPA National Advisory Board.

Marika has a degree in Environmental Engineering together with a Masters of Engineering Management and Masters of Environmental Law and is a Chartered Professional Engineer with Engineers Australia.

David Simon—Executive Chairman—Simon National Carriers

David Simon is the Executive Chairman of Simon National Carriers and has a deep understanding of the industry both as an operator and at an association level. He was first elected as the chairman of the ATA in 2010, after many years of experience on the ATA board of management, general council and as part of the Queensland Trucking Association.

David's company, Simon National Carriers, is a leading provider of transport and third party warehousing and distribution throughout Australia. The company has a fleet of more than 150 trucks and is a member of TruckSafe, the industry's premier safety accreditation scheme.
