This project was a continuation of a previous study in speed perception that evaluated the role of the type of road and road width, roadside development, travel speed, driving experience and the sex of the driver on estimates of safety and travel speed (Fides, Fletcher & Corrigan, 1987).

MR 03: Sex differences in drink driving (1989)

BACs were obtained from drivers tested between 10pm and 3am in roadside surveys conducted in Adelaide between 1981 and 1987; drivers admitted to the Royal Adelaide Hospital between September 1985 & July 1987; and drivers killed on South Australian roads from 1981 to 1987 inclusive.
