The Australian Government is committed to supporting regular and reliable air services to Norfolk Island, and are seeking input from the local tourism industry on future air passenger services to the island.
With the current contract with Air New Zealand expiring in July next year, we want to ensure we are delivering services to best meet the needs of Norfolk residents, businesses and tourists.
I will be holding meetings with key figures in the tourism industry on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 August 2021, with the timing to be confirmed over the coming days. These meetings will support planning for the procurement of the next air services partner by providing valuable information about the needs and requirements of the community.
We will also be collecting information from a passenger service survey, which we will host on the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications website as well as handing out paper copies at all tourist information outlets on Norfolk Island and at the Norfolk Island Airport, and I encourage all interested passengers to provide your input.
