Qantas has updated its cancellation policy to ensure customers have a number of options due to the cancellations, including one of the following:

  • Rebook to another flight; or
  • Credit: Retain the value of the ticket in credit; or
  • Refund: If the above alternative options are not suitable, customers are entitled to a refund.

My office will also work with travel agents and tourism operators to ensure appropriate changes are made to visitors’ accommodation, itineraries and other arrangements affected by the flight schedule adjustments.

Should passengers have any questions about booking changes, they are advised to contact Qantas on +61 2 8222 2422, online via qantas.com or through their travel agent.

Given the ongoing uncertainty and escalating travel restrictions, I have asked the Department and Qantas to ensure early notice to passengers and businesses of any future changes so that they can adapt their arrangements.

The pandemic continues to present unprecedented global challenges to the aviation sector. I would like to thank Qantas for helping to ensure the continuity of flights to Norfolk Island through this during this period of uncertainty.

I would like to thank everyone for their continuing patience and understanding as we work to ensure the health and safety of residents and visitors to Norfolk Island.

Administrator of Norfolk Island
