The Australian Government is welcoming submissions for the highly successful Stronger Communities Programme and Building Better Regions Fund, with the most recent rounds opening earlier this month.
Under the Stronger Communities Programme, Norfolk Island will have the opportunity to share in $150,000 of Australian Government funding, with grants of between $2,500 and $20,000 available to cover up to 100 per cent eligible project costs—except for governing bodies where grant funding will be up to 50 per cent of eligible project costs.
I strongly encourage all interested, eligible community organisations to consider potential projects for funding under the program—projects that will encourage and support community participation and contribute to our vibrant and strong community.
The Stronger Communities Programme builds upon the recent opening of Round 5 of the Building Better Regions Fund, with the government offering $200 million for community infrastructure and investment across regional Australia, including $100 million in funding for dedicated tourism-related infrastructure.
Norfolk Island is an extraordinary place to live, work and visit, and through the Building Better Regions Fund, we have the opportunity to ensure we remain a world-class destination for decades to come.
I strongly encourage all interested Norfolk Island residents and organisations to inquire into your eligibility for both the Supporting Better Communities Programme and the Building Better Regions Fund by contacting the AusIndustry Business Grants Hub on 13 28 46 to discuss your individual circumstances.
Applications for both initiatives can be submitted through the online portal at www.business.gov.au.
