The Australian Government is preparing for the next phase of the Norfolk Island Multipurpose Health Services Facility (NI MPHS) project by appointing GHD Pty Ltd (GHD) to provide design services.
As most residents would be aware, the project was established to develop the initial and detailed business cases which will lead to the Australian Government’s consideration of funding approval for a new NI MPHS.
A request for expressions of interest for design consultancy services was released in September 2019, followed by a request for tender issued to four shortlisted tenderers in December 2019. That process concluded this month with the appointment of GHD to explore potential design solutions with the community and local stakeholders, in line with the principles of the Norfolk Island Community Engagement Framework.
GHD will commence the design process in mid-2020 and seek Norfolk Island community input and feedback on master plan design development, to ensure a safe and compliant solution is tailored to meet the island’s needs.
Community consultation processes on the design development will take into account the current emergency declaration and travel restrictions on Norfolk Island resulting from the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic as needed.
If you have any questions about the NI MPHS project prior to the next round of consultations, please contact the Office of the Administrator by email: office.administrator@regional.gov.au or phone 22152.
