In an exciting opportunity to showcase Norfolk Island and the Kingston and Arthur’s Vale Historic Area (KAVHA), an Australian production company will next week capture drone footage of the site for an audio-visual display at Hyde Park Barracks in Sydney.
The small team of three producers from audio visual company Collider will be filming from 20 to 22 September 2019, for a permanent display which will be part of the $18 million refurbishment of the Barracks.
The footage will be used for an immersive 11 screen video display which will feature aerial footage of all of the Australian Convict Sites and show the extent and quality of the convict heritage experience across Australia.
This will promote KAVHA, the earliest of the Australian Convict Sites, and Norfolk Island to the many thousands set to visit a revitalised Hyde Park Barracks when it reopens later this year. The footage will also be made available for our own use at KAVHA.
Filming is expected to take no more than six hours in total, and disruption is expected to be minimal.
The project is being managed by Collider on behalf of Sydney Living Museums. For further information, please contact Heritage Manager Martin Purslow (23115 or martin.purslow@infrastructure.gov.au) or the Office of the Administrator (22152 or office.administrator@infrastructure.gov.au).
