Update on Strong community engagement on traffic laws

The Australian Government thanks the community for taking the time to make submissions in response to the Traffic Laws in Norfolk Island consultation paper.

The period for written submissions has closed and the Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development received a number of submissions, indicating a strong level of interest in the proposed changes.

As advised in the consultation paper, the Department intends to publish submissions on its website in due course, unless a submission was marked confidential or contains other information that is not suitable to publish.  Publication will include names but not contact details. People can opt to have their submission kept confidential by emailing NI_Legislation@infrastructure.gov.au. A summary about the submissions received will also be published to inform the community on the key comments and themes.

The Department will now consider all the information received and look at further engagement as part of the consultation process.
