Technical needs for biosecurity and customs roles

Media Release

30 July 2015

Next week, Australian government staff from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection will visit Norfolk Island to better understand information technology needs to support biosecurity and customs requirements from 1 July 2016.

While the focus of the visit will be on technology requirements and learning about how Norfolk Island currently manages customs and quarantine functions, the Department of Agriculture will also be available for initial meetings with local business to discuss specific biosecurity questions about current import and export on either Wednesday afternoon or Thursday afternoon. This will build on the feedback which has been provided through the reform discussions to date.

To make an appointment, please contact the Office of the Administrator on 22152.

Appointments will be held at the Australian Government Information Centre in Burnt Pine.

The Hon Gary Hardgrave
Administrator
Territory of Norfolk Island
