Appointment of new Officer-in-Charge, Norfolk Island Police Force

Following her appointment on 19 January 2015, Sergeant Catherine Tye has commenced her role as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the Norfolk Island Police Force (NIPF).

Catherine is a welcome addition to the NIPF and comes to this appointment with 15 years policing experience in general duties, national investigations, training, professional standards and administration.

Catherine has worked with Pacific Island police services in developing their investigative and surveillance capabilities, including an extended deployment to Papua New Guinea. She has also previously be deployed to Christmas Island.

Catherine is joined on Norfolk Island by her husband Angus and daughter Ellen.

I thank Detective Sergeant Craig Marriott for his tireless contribution and service over the past two years and wish him well in the future.
