Norfolk Island will join in observance of a public holiday on Thursday, 22 September 2022 for the National Day of Mourning for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
The legislative updates to declare the public holiday on Norfolk Island have now been finalised.
This is a one-off national public holiday to allow people to pay their respects and commemorate Her Majesty’s remarkable life and dedication to service. It will coincide with a national memorial service for the Queen at Parliament House in Canberra.
The Office of the Administrator is able to receive letters of condolence from the Norfolk Island community either by hand or email, for provision to Buckingham Palace. Messages of condolence can also be left on the Governor General’s website.
