The Jervis Bay Territory Emergency Management Ordinance 2015 (the Ordinance) is being reviewed. We would like to hear your comments on how well the Ordinance is working and whether any changes should be made.

This Ordinance provides the framework for emergency management in the JBT. It establishes the JBT Emergency Management Committee, which includes representatives from key local emergency services, police, the Wreck Bay Aboriginal Community Council, the Department of Defence and the Director of National Parks.

The Ordinance also requires a JBT Emergency Management Plan to be developed; sets out emergency powers; and provides for the management of rescue operations.
