2016/05—Community Health Service Arrangements Update

The Department of Infrastructure and Regional Development provides community health services to the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) under a service agreement with the NSW Government's Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD). 

The Department has contracted ISLHD to continue to provide community health services for a further three years under an agreement that will see health care better aligned to the services delivery model that applies for similar communities in the Illawarra-Shoalhaven region.  

Current health services continue to be available but there will be small changes in accessing some services. 

The ISLHD will continue to provide community health services from the Wreck Bay clinic and from ISLHD regional service centres.  The home nursing visitation service is unchanged.  A twice-weekly child and family nursing drop-in service will be provided from the Wreck Bay clinic. 

There is now a stronger focus on tailored health services through an appointment based model.  

At the present time, no services will be provided from the Jervis Bay Village Community Health Clinic.

These arrangements do not affect the complementary health care services provided by the South Coast Medical Service and Aboriginal Corporation or South Coast Women's Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation.

Appointments for JBT community health services can be made by calling the ISLHD Access and Referral Centre on 1300 792 755 Monday to Friday 8:30 to 4:00 and on Saturday and Sunday 7:30am to 3pm.
