Topic: Flying Fish Cove Landscape Masterplan
Date: 10 February 2020
Residents of Christmas Island (CI) are invited to discuss opportunities for future improvements to the Flying Fish Cove (FFC) foreshore area in line with actions outlined in the Our Christmas Island 2030 Strategic Plan.
The strategic plan was developed by the community, through the Indian Ocean Territories (IOT) Regional Development Organisation (RDO), and calls for the completion of the FFC Masterplan, and the implementation of priority actions to ensure a long term vision with a staged approach to improvements at FFC.
Improvements to the FFC foreshore area are expected to benefit tourism, build community spirit and enhance the beauty of CI.
The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications will hold a drop-in session to help the design team to build upon the existing masterplan with a landscape masterplan for FFC that is reflective of the community it aims to support.
Drop In Session: Wednesday 12th February 2020
Audience: Community (General)
Location: Malay Club
Times: 3pm - 5pm
The final Flying Fish Cove Landscape Masterplan will focus on the development of plans showing the future of the precinct, and set out the capital improvements needed to deliver on the community's vision.
