The Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities published the Report on the Indian Ocean Territories Health Service on 29 March 2019. Completed by PricewaterhouseCoopers, the Report makes 25 recommendations, and will inform the development of a Five Year Strategic Plan for the Health Service.

The Department will meet with community groups on Christmas Island from 13 to 16 May 2019, and on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands from 4 to 7 June 2019, to discuss the Report and seek feedback on its recommendations.

The Department will hold an open drop-in session on Christmas Island at the Administrator’s Office, Administration Building, Jalan Patai, from 4.00pm to 6.00pm on Wednesday, 15 May 2019. All members of the Christmas Island community are invited to join us and share their views on the Report and the future of the Health Service. If you are unable to attend, but would like to share your views with the Department, please arrange an alternative time by emailing indianoceanterritories@infrastructure.gov.au.

Advice on a drop-in session on the Cocos (Keeling) Islands will be provided in the coming weeks.

The Report is available on the Department’s website at www.regional.gov.au/territories/publications/index.aspx. Hard copies are available, upon request, from the IOT Administration Offices.
