Invitation to help implement projects in the Christmas Island Strategic Plan

As recently announced, the Australian Government is providing a $500,000 grant to the Indian Ocean Territories Regional Development Organisation (RDO) to help implement a range of projects from the Indian Ocean Territories (IOTs) Strategic Plans. $300,000 of this amount is being allocated for Christmas Island Strategic Plan implementation.

My office has engaged locally based company C Change Sustainable Solutions to assist with the drafting of project proposals for the consideration of the RDO.

The key criteria for identifying potential projects includes, but is not limited to, the following:

• community infrastructure projects that are aligned to actions in the Christmas Island Strategic Plan;
• of significant benefit to the Christmas Island community or the IOT region; and
• to be completed by 30 June, 2021.

We encourage financial and in-kind contributions to potential projects.

Could you please e-mail Madi Signa, the RDO's Regional Investment Officer, by Monday, 22 April at madi.signa@iotrdo.com.au if your organisation would like to be included in the identification of potential projects under this grant process.

The RDO will decide on the projects to be funded in line with the assessment criteria developed as part of this process.
