Invitation to CI Community to join us on “Solidarity Day” from 11.30 a.m., Sunday, 24 March, Kampong Padang

The Islamic Council of Christmas Island invites all members of the Christmas Island community to join them from 11.30 a.m. on Sunday, 24 March at the Kampong Padang to show our solidarity with our brothers and sisters in New Zealand following the Christchurch tragedy.

There will be a water slide, games, sausage sizzle, food stalls and a silent auction. Funds raised will be for the victims of Christchurch and the Christmas Island Madrasah.

Solidarity Day is supported by the Office of the Administrator, the Shire of Christmas Island and the Union of Christmas Island Workers amongst others.

My personal thanks to all the businesses, organisations and individuals who have donated items or volunteered their time to make the day a success.

Please join us as we come together to demonstrate that the Christmas Island community is united against terrorism, racism and intolerance.
