Call for Expressions of Interest for two New Members of the IOT Regional Development Organisation

Expressions of interest are sought to fill one new community member position for Christmas Island and one for Cocos (Keeling) Islands on the Indian Ocean Territories Regional Development Organisation (IOT RDO).

These are voluntary positions for a two-year term commencing in early 2019. The IOT RDO supports the economic development of the Indian Ocean Territories.

I am seeking diverse membership to provide broad-based representation of the Christmas Island community. The criteria that will be used to select a representative will include:

• Diversity of skills and experience
• Gender balance
• Geographic coverage
• Cultural diversity
• Demographic profile
• Age ranges

These positions were created as a result of the IOT RDO's recent Special General Meeting to amend its Constitution and to increase its membership for both Christmas Island and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands. Please note that the appointments are subject to the amended Constitution being accepted as compliant under the WA Associations Incorporation Act 2015.
