About the program
The Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) was the former Government's regional grants program designed to deliver funding for regional infrastructure projects and community development activities.
The Australian Government announced on 24 October 2022 that the BBRF will be discontinued.
BBRF Funding Round 6
Applications for BBRF Round 6 opened in December 2021 and closed in February 2022.
The Australian Government has decided not to proceed with the BBRF program, including Round 6 applications. BBRF Round 6 applicants may be able to apply for the new following new community infrastructure programs:
- Growing Regions Program
- Thriving Suburbs Program
- Regional Precincts and Partnerships Program
- Urban Precincts and Partnerships Program
BBRF Funding Rounds 1–5
Contracted BBRF projects funded in Rounds 1 to 5 will continue to be completed in line with the terms of their grant agreement and grant opportunity guidelines.
