The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications and the Arts is proud to release our 2023 Australian Public Service Employee Census results (the Census).

The Census is an annual engagement survey that asks for staff views on areas such as wellbeing, innovation, communication, leadership and culture. In 2023, the Census was open to staff between May 8 and June 9.

From 2023 we are publishing our Census Action Plan to further increase transparency in line with APS Reforms.

The Optus outage of 8 November 2023 (the Outage) interrupted critical services for consumers and businesses. It also impacted essential government, public health and safety infrastructure.
