We want to hear your views on the design of the Australian 5G Innovation Initiative.
This Initiative will support trials of new 5G uses that will drive productivity and growth across Australia in key sectors including agriculture, mining, retail, medical technology, construction and manufacturing.
5G technology is expected to have significant benefits for commercial and industrial uses including smart factories and warehousing, logistics management, augmented reality and connected vehicles.
The trials will help Australian businesses, including small-to-medium enterprises, to be at the forefront of adopting new technologies that demonstrate 5G’s benefits, encouraging innovative ways of working and boosting productivity.
Successful funding recipients will pilot ways of using 5G in their businesses which will in turn build commercial incentive for other businesses to adopt 5G solutions and for carriers to accelerate their 5G rollouts.
There will be two grant rounds under the initiative of $10 million each.
We are seeking submissions from stakeholders to inform the design of the Initiative, including thoughts on key questions raised in our discussion paper.
Submissions can be made through our Have Your Say page by 11 December 2020, 17.00 AEDT.
