Have your say on the future licensing of 3.4 GHz spectrum

The Government is proposing changes to the way 3.4 GHz spectrum is licensed to improve broadband access and maximise the benefits of 5G.

Spectrum is a highly valued and finite resource that is essential for the delivery of digital services, including mobile broadband, television and radio.

The 3.4 GHz band currently has a mix of licence types that support a variety of uses including fixed wireless and 5G mobile broadband.

We're consulting on a plan to optimise licensing arrangements to free up spectrum to support the rollout of 5G and improve regional access to broadband while still supporting current uses of the band.

You can provide your feedback on the proposed designation notice by 20 October 2020 through our Have your say webpage.
