CR 14: Side impacts and the effect of Australian Design Rule 29 for side door strength: a preliminary study (1980)

Document
Document
Australian Design Rule (ADR) 29 specifies side door strength requirements of all new cars in Australia from1977 models onwards. It is based on and almost identical with U.S. Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 214.

CR 09: Study design for the evaluation of the effectiveness of MITERS—type projects—summary (1979)

This Summary report briefly describes the design phase of a study to evaluate the safety effectiveness of certain minor traffic engineering and road safety projects undertaken in Australia.

OR 5: Effect of Seat Belt Design Rules on Wearing Rates

Document
Through the Australian Design Rule program, action has been taken to make seat belts more convenient, more comfortable to use and more effective in accidents.

CR 08: Study design for the evaluation of the effectiveness of MITERS—type projects—technical report (1979)

Document
This Technical Report describes the design phase of a study to evaluate the safety effectiveness of certain minor traffic engineering and road safety projects undertaken in Australia.

CR 07: Frontal impacts and the effect of Australian Design Rules 10A and 10B for steering columns (1979)

Document
Document
Australian Design Rules (ADRs) 10A and 10B are aimed at reducing injuries to drivers who strike steering columns. ADR 10B is also aimed at limiting rearward displacement of steering columns in frontal collisions.

CR 03: Ethanol ingestion studies: pilot project (1979)

CR 01: Collisions with utility poles

Document
Document
In a survey of utility pole collisions, information on site characteristics and accident severity was obtained. Randomly-selected samples of sites and vehicles provided control information. An accident-predictor model which identifies accident risk on the basis of site measurements is derived.

CR 02: Collisions with utility poles—Summary report

Document
This report summarises the objectives, methodology, findings and recommendations of a study of collisions with utility poles. In a survey of accidents, information on site characteristics and accident severity was obtained.

CR 06: Appraisal of the existing traffic accident data collection and recording system—South Australia (1979)

Document
Traffic accident data collection in South Australia has been appraised with the intention of answering two questions: What can reasonably be expected of the mass accident data system, and what improvements could be achieved by alterations to the system or to the demands made of it?
