This monograph provides information on the incidence of alcohol intoxication amongst drivers, motorcycle riders and pedestrians involved in fatal road crashes during 1998.

This project investigated the effects of two different work-rest schedules on fatigue and performance. The study addressed an important problem for Australian drivers and the long distance road transport industry in particular, that of driver fatigue.

The aim of this study was to develop a range of measures that could be used in evaluating the effectiveness of different work-rest schedules for managing fatigue.

Monograph 3 – Australia's international pedestrian safety performance 1990 to 1997

This monograph compares Australias pedestrian fatalities with other OECD nations between 1990 and 1997. The comparisons are drawn taking into account the population and level of motorisation of the countries reported.

This is the thirteenth in a series of annual surveys of community attitudes and perceptions towards a range of road safety issues.

Monograph 2 – Australia's international road safety performance 1997

This monograph compares Australias road safety performance with its OECD counterparts. The comparisons are drawn taking into account the level of motorisation and population of the countries reported.

OR 22: Estimating road trauma in the Australian indigenous population

This report compares the annual road death rate of both Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in three jurisdictions, which currently collect this information, and then estimates the Indigenous road toll Australia-wide. Two conclusions can be drawn from the analyses in this report.
