The Department completed two statutory reviews into digital radio services in Australia in July 2015. As part of the review process, the Department released a digital radio discussion paper in December 2013. The consultation period for this paper has now ended.

Australia’s seven mainland state and national capitals all have digital radio services.
The Department recently reviewed the regulatory regime and technologies for digital radio services in Australia under:
- section 215B of the Broadcasting Services Act 1992
- section 313B of the Radiocommunications Act 1992.

Outcome
The Digital Radio Report prepared by us, was tabled in the Australian Parliament on 8 July 2015. The report outlines the outcomes of the review and makes a series of recommendations.
