The Australian Government is committed to boosting productivity by reducing the cost to Australian business of red and green tape by $1 billion a year.
Organisations across the communications sector were asked to suggest areas in which regulation could be streamlined or removed.

Outcome
In 2014 over 50 measures were introduced, aimed at removing the burden of red tape in the Communications sector. It contributed to a cumulative saving of over $94 million for business and consumers. Over 3,400 pages of redundant regulation has been removed.
