The 12 LGA factsheets are based on the findings of the report. Key findings include:

  • Brisbane has 1.27 million population in 2020, to increase by 22 per cent to 1.55 million in 2041.
  • Gold Coast has 635,191 population in 2020, to increase by 49 per cent to 943,686 in 2041.
  • Ipswich has 229,845 population in 2020, to increase by 143 per cent to 557,649 in 2041.
  • Lockyer Valley has 42,267 population in 2020, to increase by 39 per cent to 58,542 in 2041.
  • Logan has 341,985 population in 2020, to increase by 62 per cent to 554,327 in 2041.
  • Moreton Bay has 479,639 population in 2020, to increase by 44 per cent to 690,602 in 2041.
  • Noosa has 56,587 population in 2020, to increase by 15 per cent to 64,999 in 2041.
  • Redland has 160,331 population in 2020, to increase by 20 per cent to 192,431 in 2041.
  • Scenic Rim 43,625 population in 2020, to increase by 54 per cent to 67,290 in 2041.
  • Somerset has 26,279 population in 2020, to increase by 49 per cent to 39,017 in 2041.
  • Sunshine Coast has 336,482 population in 2020, to increase by 54 per cent to 518,004 in 2041.
  • Toowoomba has 170,356 population in 2020, to increase by 20 per cent to 204,332 in 2041.
