Narrator: Today, I'm going to show you how to create a ROVER account using multifactor authentication. Start by typing rover.infrastructure.gov.au into your web browser to reach the ROVER portal webpage. The recommended browsers include Chrome, Microsoft Edge and Firefox.
[Image shows the cursor selecting 'Sign in' at the bottom of the screen]
On the bottom left hand side of the page, click the 'Sign in' button.
[Image changes to show a 'Sign in' box appearing, and the image shows the cursor selecting the 'Sign up now' link at the bottom of the box]
Now click the 'Sign up now' link.
[Image shows the email address field being populated, and then the image shows the cursor selecting 'Send verification code']
Enter the email address you would like to associate with your account. Then click 'Send verification code'. This will trigger an email to be sent to you containing a 6-digit code. The verification code will expire after 10 minutes. However, you can click on the 'Send new code' button to get another.
[Image changes to show the Gmail being checked for the verification code, and then the image shows the verification code on an email]
If the verification code is slow to arrive, check your junk or spam folder.
[Image shows the 'Verification Code' field being populated and then the 'Verify code' button being selected]
Once you have the email, go back to the ROVER screen and type or copy the code into the 'Verification Code' field, and click the 'Verify code' button.
[Image shows the password field being populated and confirmed]
Now enter your password. It should be between 10 and 30 characters long.
[Image shows the name fields being populated, and then the image shows the cursor ticking the 'Privacy notice' field and then selecting the 'Create' button at the bottom]
Then add your first name and surname into the fields. When you've completed all fields, you will need to acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Notice by ticking the box, and click the 'Create' button.
[Image changes to show a country box appearing, and the image shows the cursor selecting Australia from the drop down menu]
You'll now need to set up multifactor authentication so you can access the account you created. First, choose the country you are located in using the drop down menu. In this example, I will choose Australia.
[Image shows the phone number field below being populated, and then the image shows the cursor selecting 'Send Code']
Then enter the mobile phone number you want the SMS code to be sent to. Please do not add any spaces. Now click 'Send Code'.

Check your mobile phone for the SMS, and enter the code into this field. Then click 'Verify Code'.

When the code is accepted, you'll be taken back to the ROVER portal home page.
[Image shows the cursor selecting the 'Sign in' button at the bottom of the page, and then the image changes to show the 'Update my profile' box and the cursor selecting 'Update my profile']
Now, click the 'Sign in' button again and update your user profile by clicking this button.
[Image changes to show the 'Contact details' screen]
This is an important step. You will need to add your contact and address details, and submit a minimum of 100 points of identification to be checked by the department. Once checked, you can use ROVER to submit and manage your applications and approvals. Once complete, you can log out using the 'Log out' button, and if you ever want to update your password, you can do that here too. And that's how you create an account in ROVER with multifactor authentication.
