In this video we show you how to add design and manufacturing facilities to an application for a vehicle type approval in ROVER, our online application portal.
Please note that under the Road Vehicle Standards (RVS) legislation, a type approval holder must have control of, or be able to access information relating to the design, componentry and manufacturing process that may affect the vehicle’s compliance with the applicable national road vehicle standards.

Narrator: In this video I’m going to walk you through adding design and manufacturing facilities to a vehicle type approval in ROVER.

You will need to have entered your applicant and vehicle type details before you are able to enter this information.

Start by selecting ‘Facility details’ from the left hand menu.

To add a facility, click on the 'Add Facility' button, then start typing an address in the address bar. If your address cannot be found in the address box, you can enter it manually below.

In this example I will show you how to enter a design facility first.

To add another facility, click on ‘Save and Continue’, which will take you back to the main menu.

When you select ‘Facility details’ again, you will see that your design facility has been added.

For this next example, I am going to show you how to add another facility that is both a design and manufacturing facility.

In this instance, the facility is contracted to build vehicles on my behalf, so you will need to also upload a copy of an agreement that shows that you have access to information relating to all stages of the design and manufacturing process.

Click the ‘Upload New’ button, choose the file from the location you’ve got it saved on your computer, and click the ‘Start Upload’ button.

Now that the agreement has been uploaded, you click ‘Save and Continue’, returning again to the main menu.

When you select ‘Facility details’ again, you will see that your second facility is displayed as both a design and manufacturing facility. And that’s how to add facility details to your vehicle type approval in ROVER.
