ROVER video: How to add design and manufacturing control information for a type approval

Date published:

In this video you’ll learn how to add design and manufacturing facility information for a vehicle type approval application in ROVER.

When adding design and manufacturing information in ROVER, you’ll also be asked to show the relationship the applicant has with the manufacturing facilities.

If you purchase your vehicles from another manufacturer, you can still apply. You’ll need to provide a copy of your agreement with the manufacturer that shows you have access to their design and manufacturing facilities.

Narrator: Hi, today I'm going to walk you through entering design and manufacturing control information for a vehicle type approval application in ROVER.

[Image shows the cursor pointing to the ‘Applicant’ and ‘Vehicle type details’ headings in the side menu]

You will need to have entered your ‘Applicant’ and ‘Vehicle type details’ before you are able to enter this information. Start by selecting ‘Design and manufacturing control’ from the left hand menu.

You’ll be asked if you have full control over all stages of the design, componentry and manufacturing of the road vehicle type covered by this application.

Click the ‘Edit Design and manufacturing control details’ button to edit this information.

If you purchase some parts of your vehicle from another manufacturer, meaning you don't have control over some stages of manufacturing, click the ‘No’ button. As well as your ISO accreditation, you can provide a copy of your agreement with the manufacturer that shows that you have access to their design and manufacturing facilities.

[Image shows the cursor selecting the ‘Upload now’ button and then following steps through to upload the document]

Click the ‘Yes’ button, and then the ‘plus’ button, which will make the ‘Upload New’ button visible, and you can then upload your document. Now that you have uploaded your document, click ‘Save and Continue’.

[Image shows the cursor pointing to the ‘Return to application’ button on the top right and then selecting ‘Save and continue’]

Please remember that if you click the ‘Return to application’ button on the top right hand side of the screen here, your changes will not be saved.
