Liveability in South East Queensland

Date published:

These factsheets are based on the initial findings from the liveability analysis of the ongoing South East Queensland (SEQ) research project. The indicators analysed are access to social infrastructure (health; education; arts and culture; community and sports), walkability and access to pubic open space. Key findings include:

  • Brisbane LGA scored highest on all of the liveability indicators except for access to public open space. In particular, the most highly liveable areas were centred around Inner and Middle Brisbane.
  • Toowoomba also scored well on many indicators, scoring in the top three for all social infrastructure measures.
  • Brisbane and Gold Coast were the most walkable LGAs, and Redland, Noosa, Gold Coast and Moreton Bay had the best access to public open space.
