Applications for Round 6 of the BBRF are now open, with the grant opportunity guidelines available online.
The Australian Government has called for applications in a new, sixth round of the popular Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF).
Guidelines for Round 6 of the BBRF have been released and applications are now open.
This round has funding of up to $250 million on offer, taking the Government’s total investment in regional Australia through the BBRF program to $1.38 billion.
The new round builds on the 298 regional projects recently successful in their funding applications under Round 5.
Grants will once again be available under two streams: the Infrastructure Projects Stream and the Community Investments Stream. The final allocation across project streams will depend on the quality and volume of applications received.
Local governments and eligible incorporated not-for-profit organisations can apply for grants of $5,000 up to $10 million, depending on the project stream, to cover 50 per cent or more of eligible project costs.
The first stream supports projects that involve construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure.
The second stream funds community development activities including, but not limited to, new or expanded local events, strategic regional plans, leadership and capability building activities.
Applications will close on 10 February 2022, with successful applicants expected to be announced in 2022.
