Safer Internet Day 2023: ‘Connect. Reflect. Protect.’

Australians are being encouraged to ‘Connect, Reflect and Protect’ on Safer Internet Day

Now in its twentieth year, the annual Safer Internet Day is an opportunity for schools, communities and families to learn more about enhancing safety online. Safer Internet Day is observed globally and coordinated in Australia by the eSafety Commissioner.

The theme for this year's Safer Internet Day is “Connect. Reflect. Protect”. There are many practical things all Australians can do to promote safety online, including by connecting safely with apps and devices, reflecting on how our online behaviour may impact others, and protecting ourselves and others.

The Australian Government is serious about online safety, funding initiatives such as the $6 million to make the Alannah and Madeline Foundation's digital and media literacy tools freely available to all schools, and not just those that can afford them.
