Perth Concert Hall redevelopment to commence

The heritage-listed building is being revitalised to continue to entertain audiences well into the future.

The Perth City Deal is providing a combined $150.3 million in Federal, state and local funding to transform the historic Perth Concert Hall, commencing in February 2025.

The refurbishments will include new rehearsal and events spaces, improved accessibility for the auditorium entry, updated seating and lighting, and the redesign and landscaping of the northern and southern forecourts.

The venue’s architectural and historic integrity will be maintained throughout the redevelopment, ensuring the venue’s distinctive features and acoustics are preserved.

As part of the Perth City Deal, funding includes $134.3 million from the WA Government, $12 million from the Federal Government and $4 million from the City of Perth.

In 2028, once the refurbishment has been completed, it will become the new home for the West Australian Symphony Orchestra.
