The Australian Government has announced a $1 billion investment to secure future rail corridors between Leppington and Bradfield, and Bradfield and Macarthur.
Currently the Leppington to Bradfield connection is a missing link on Sydney's rail network.
Preserving the rail corridor will enable future Metro or Sydney Trains network extensions, to give passengers and workers at Western Sydney International Airport easy access to the south western suburbs of Sydney, and onwards to the Sydney CBD.
Timelines for delivery of the rail corridor preservation work will be finalised in partnership with the New South Wales Government.
