New data hub supports regional growth

The Regional Data Hub has launched and will improve access to information and data for people, communities and decision-makers across regional Australia.

The free and easy-to-use online resource will connect users to data on populations, health, education, housing, wellbeing, tourism, environment and climate change, built and digital infrastructure and more – in a single, accessible and searchable location.

This will support all levels of government and local leaders across industries to respond to local priorities by accessing detailed data insights.

After an extensive nationwide public consultation and rigorous testing of a beta site, the Hub has been carefully designed to reflect practical capabilities stakeholders put forward.

It has three core streams of functionality:

  • finding data of interest using an extensive Data Catalogue
  • exploring data insights, dashboards, interactive maps and other visualisations
  • learning about data with educational resources to assist users along their data journey

The Hub will continue to evolve into the future with new content and features being added over time. It’s a key component of the Better Data Use to Support Delivery for Regional Australians program.
