National Freight Data Hub wins award

The prototype website has been recognised for its cutting-edge geospatial visualisation tools.

The award-winning National Freight Data Hub (the Hub) prototype provides insights on how Australia's freight is performing and the ways it can be improved, by using open data and time-enabled maps and graphs.

Recently the Hub received the Asia-Pacific Spatial Excellence Award (APSEA) for Spatial Enablement, in recognition of how the Hub's spatial tools greatly enhance the outcomes of a project, process or product.

The prototype is the first publicly searchable Australian freight data directory, helping government and industry gain a national picture of Australia's freight movements, entry points and pain points.

This assists both industry and government to plan for future investments and support day-to-day operations to keep freight moving, even during uncertain times.
