Consultation now open on the On Farm Connectivity Program discussion paper

Primary producers from the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors as well as equipment service providers are invited to have their say on the design of the program.

The On Farm Connectivity Program will enhance agricultural productivity across the country by supporting the use of connected machinery and sensor technology.

Feedback on the discussion paper will help shape the design and delivery of the Program to ensure it best meets the needs of farmers and the broader agricultural sector, including forestry and fisheries.

$30 million has been committed over 3 years toward the program to grow Australia's agricultural sector through extended connectivity for farmers and their machinery.

The objective of the Program is to improve digital connectivity across a farm, including in the forestry and fisheries sector. The Program will contribute towards the cost of a service provider who will provide and install equipment and provide some initial training on how to use the equipment.

The first round of funding is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2023.
