The second round of the Australian 5G Innovation Initiative is now open for applications. A further $20 million in grant funding is available to help Australian businesses test the benefits of 5G connectivity.
The Australian 5G Innovation Initiative is designed to help small to large businesses test and develop 5G uses, applications, services and products. It will support projects across key sectors of the economy and include dedicated funding of up to $2 million for projects in the Western Parkland City district.
Round two of the Initiative will provide grants between $100,000 and $2 million per project and covers up to 80 per cent of costs, with a total of $20 million in funding available.
5G is an enabling platform that can improve productivity, efficiency and business growth. The potential for new applications and solutions in areas such as production and processing, means that 5G will have an economic effect well beyond any short-term commercial return.
Round one of the Initiative is already providing support to 19 projects that are developing future uses for 5G based technology. Visit the website to find out more about the Australian 5G Innovation Initiative projects.
Applications for round two close 11 April 2022. To apply or find out more visit business.gov.au/A5GII
