Next steps for future air passenger services to Norfolk Island

The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications is now inviting tenders for a long-term aviation partner to deliver regular and reliable air passenger services to Norfolk Island, following the expiry of the current arrangements.

The Australian Government is committed to supporting air services that best meet the current and future needs of Norfolk Island residents, tourists and businesses.

We are ensuring through an open tender procurement process that our long-term air services partner for Norfolk Island will provide an approach tailored to the circumstances of the local community and business sectors.

Over the past months, we have gathered valuable data from air service users to help inform the development of the procurement process and thank everyone who took the time to provide feedback.

The Australian Government will continue to support reliable air passenger services to Norfolk Island over the coming months and years. The Department will keep the community informed as we progress through the procurement process in the months ahead.

The request for tender documents are available through the Australian Government’s procurement information system, AusTender (https://www.tenders.gov.au). Any questions about the procurement process can be made in writing to NI_Procurements@infrastructure.gov.au.
