I am pleased to announce that the Department of Infrastructure, Regional Development and Cities has appointed Martin Purslow as the new Heritage Manager for KAVHA. Martin will move to Norfolk Island with his wife Sue.
Martin has a strong background in historic heritage, with more than 20 years in operational and strategic management of cultural heritage on the mainland and overseas. He has recently returned from England where he was CEO of the Weald and Downland Museum in England. Prior to this, Martin spent 10 years heading up the National Trust of Australia in Victoria.
Martin is excited by the opportunity to work on Norfolk Island and sees tremendous potential in KAVHA.
I understand that Martin will start his position in mid-February; in time for the next KAVHA Advisory Committee Meeting.
Martin’s leadership will be an enormous asset to KAVHA and I’m sure you will join me in extending a warm welcome to Martin as he settles in.
