I"d like to begin by acknowledging the traditional owners of the land on which we meet today and pay my respects to Elders past and present.

The election of the Coalition Government last year has confirmed a number of Australia's policy settings.

The Assistant Minister for Regional Development and Territories, the Honourable Nola Marino MP, has extended the declared State of Emergency for the Jervis Bay Territory (JBT) for a 30-day period from 3 August 2020, as part of the ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This will continue to protect and support the JBT community, with the health and wellbeing of the community the first priority.

As at 4 August 2020, there were no known cases of COVID-19 in the JBT.

The Australian Government provides regular updates to the community on the development and progress of programs and services for Norfolk Island.

Eligibility for Drought Communities Programme Extension

• The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development has rerun the data for the Drought Communities Programme Extension, which confirms the 13 Local Government Areas announced on Friday 27 September are eligible – including the Moyne Shire in Victoria.
• We are committed to ensuring this programme continues to deliver support to those communities most in need, with a large number of Councils to date welcoming the economic stimulus funding.

More domestic flights are departing and arriving on time across Australia, according to the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics" latest Domestic Airline On Time Performance annual report.

The report monitors the punctuality and reliability of major domestic airlines operating between Australian airports on competitive routes and summarises the on time performance of the overall industry, as well as individual airlines and airports.

As communicated in the Cultural Landscape Management Plan consultations and my KAVHA Update in the Norfolk Islander and Norfolk Online News last month, a tree removal permit has now been granted by the Council to remove a number of trees at the former Polynesian site at Emily Bay.
