Applications now open for Round 5A of the Mobile Black Spot Program

Mobile Network Operators and Mobile Network Infrastructure Providers are encouraged to submit applications for funding to deliver new and improved mobile coverage across regional and remote Australia.

Applications are now open for Round 5A of the highly successful Mobile Black Spot Program.

Round 5A will be used to test a range of different program designs to continue to expand and improve mobile coverage for regional and remote Australia.

Round 5A includes a focus on three priority funding areas:

  • high priority natural disaster prone areas, including those affected or prone to bushfire
  • new technology solutions in areas where low population densities have discouraged applications under earlier rounds of the program, and
  • major regional and remote transport corridors.

Mobile Network Operators and Infrastructure Providers have until 9 January 2021 to register interest in applying for funding under Round 5A.
